They find the trail easy going to begin with, but it gradually got
steeper. Astra of course found it harder going. Around one particularly
sharp corner they bumped into a startled goat which almost knocked
Fred over when it tried to escape. Fortunately he recovered
quickly. Walking for around half a mile or so, where the trail travelled more-or-less level around the side of the mountain, they came across a cave. The snake informed Astra that nothing lived in there to threaten them, and it was an ideal place to have a rest. It was a relief for Astra for the snake uncoiled itself from her leg again, and she rubbed her leg to try and getting more feeling into it. Fred meanwhile, decided to see how far back the cave went - well, as far back as he could while being able to see. He wasn't paying attention to the floor - being preoccupied by looking to see if he could find another entrance - he tripped and stifled a curse. He bent down and picked up the offending object. It was a plain bronze anklet. In surprisingly good shape, too. It had been protected from weathering and corrosion in this unusually dry cave. He debated whether to look further or show Astra and eventually decided to show Astra to see what she thought of it.
