Switch or Stay?

Jarlath said, "At the closing of the Fair of Ilixior, a visitor is chosen to pick one of three closed baskets. Two baskets are filled with lead and iron, and the other one is filled with gold and silver. The master of ceremonies knows in advance which basket contains the treasure, but he can work no magical trickery. The treasure will stay in the basket in which it was originally placed."

He continued, "Now, the visitor chooses the third basket. He has no way to cheat magically to determine the contents. The master of ceremonies then opens the second basket, and reveals that it contains base metal. He then allows to visitor to switch and choose the first basket if he wishes. What should the visitor do?"
