Lab experiment

Taking a closer look, Josh notics a spark of life in the dog's eyes. On a sudden impulse he reaches out and pulls the stick out of the dog's mouth,
To his second surprise the dog suddenly comes to life, jumping up and down and slobbering all over him. Looks like it wants him to throw the stick so it can chase it. (That is, so the dog can chase the stick, not the other way around!)
But there is nowhere to throw the stick, is there?

1. Josh throws the stick up the stairs.
2. He throws it down on the floor.
3. He throws it against a wall.
4. He throws it at the ceiling, and it falls on his head and knocks him out. Big stick!
5. He throws up on the dog.
6. He gives the stick back to the dog, and it freezes again. Curiouser and curiouser.
7. He bites the stick, and freezes. Oops!
8. The stick turns into a snake.
