What the dream!
Of all my years I have known nothing so vivid; yet what does it foretell?
Shall I join with Robin, or shall I stand my loyalty with the regent,
Prince John? If I side with the former, I side with conscience, and if I
side with the latter, I keep my family at peace, and that is conscience
too. Look at Mary, how she sleeps. Her form is peaceable, yet she does
not know what fray may occur tomorrow. How may I sleep? How may I allow
my mind to drift, knowing I must decide before the day arriives?
