Fred broke the lock and opened the door. He peered down into the
darkness, but couldn't see a thing. Suddenly, he heard shouting up
above: "Wot the 'ell?" The guard had awoken and found the pit!
Without thinking, Fred leaped down into the door. He fell about ten feet to the floor of a room of some sort. The room was pitch black. Feeling around, Fred found a door leading north, and a switch of some sort. Hearing the guard climbing down towards him, he had to act quickly.
