"I've no idea who these people are," Ford Prefect answers Zaphod. "They
seem to know exactly what they are doing, though. Unlike a certain
relation of mine, who is very good at pretending that he knows what
he is doing, but in reality doesn't have the slightest idea."
Just for a moment, Zaphod forgets to maintain his cool persona, and gives Ford the satisfaction of actually looking angry, but he quickly catches himself. A little later, in the waiting area of Milliways, also known as the Restaurant at the End of the Universe: "We'll have to wait how long for a table?" Cuthbert exclaims. If the manager had ever met him before, he would surely have recognised the warning signs, and have made sure that a table was made available at once. But of course he doesn't have that advantage. "As I told you the first time," he replies haughtily:
