Into the City

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 46221

You've been to the desert, and there wasn't much to see; in the city you might be a hunted fugitive, but at least there will be food and shelter to be had. You run up the broad boulevard leading into the city proper, passing a number of residential structures that have been elevated on pillars for the night (as a security precaution, you assume). The buildings get larger and more ostentatious the farther you go, until they become so imposing that it is only possible to raise portions of the structures.

You pass into a district filled with mighty palaces, finally reaching one that is fully lit and alive with music; the owners are evidently throwing a party. At that precise moment you hear a shrill whistling back down the avenue, and assume that the guard has recovered sufficiently to raise the alarm. Having nowhere else to go, you dart through the palace gates while the gatekeeper is distracted by an arriving group of guests.

  1. You pick up a serving tray and pretend to be one of the many slaves dispensing food and drink.
  2. You see several small, parked flyers that appear to be unguarded, and head for them.
  3. An alert servant spots you, and demands to know who you are.
