Tea for neither ME nor YOU!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 44912

Artizza

"How's the tea coming along?" I call over to my husband, Fertal!

I ask because he looks a little bit harried. Not surprising, being that Arthur seems to be really interested in the product himself. Cannot really say I blame him. Being that we’d only been introduced to the stuff (and coffee) ourselves upon coming into our rightful forms AND being transported to Terra Prime (re: 24917), we’d not known what our world had missed up until now. Marvelous stuff, this "tea" and "caffeine", though it tends to leave one jittery if you imbibe too much I fear . . .

….

Hm, is Arthur in need of a "morning caffiene fix"? I see that he's still in his sleeping clothes, so he and Ford must have been in a TERRIBLE rush to get away. Probably didn't have time for much in the way of a proper meal (though for some reason I smell more than a little bit of the "spirits" still lingering on his and Ford's breath). Wonder what that was all about?

Whatever the case, Arthur right now seems to be crowding my husband a bit because of the tea! Not much, and not intentionally, but still Arthur kind of drifted slightly into his personal space. It’s called "hovering over one’s shoulder" in some circles. Usually, he’d have thought nothing (much) of it. Not let it bother him the slightest, but we’re kind of under the gun here ourselves, time wise.

See, how long will it be before the Vogons here suddenly realize that the ship we’re forcing them to aid is the very vessel that get them sack them eventually? How long will it be before some Vogon decides that even IF we have the Vogon Captain at gunpoint (He’s coming along with us via the shuttlecraft as a "guest", until we debark, so his crew doesn’t decide to practice target shooting. After that we’re going to RUN, but until then he’s going to be a "guest".)

"Arthur, would you please back off a bit," he mutters, making a slight shooing motion with his free hand. "This is for neither me nor you but the ship in distress. Next one is yours, trust me."

Minutes later, down in the shuttlebay. . .

Edward Solomon

"But how in the bloody Hell is tea going to fix this Heart of Gold?" Arthur nearly shouts, insisting on knowing, despite promises we’ll explain later.

As it stands, I’ve finally figured out how to generate a field wit h my tricorder (trick I’d learned back in my misspent youth, sort of) that will block out any snooping microphones and whatnot. Needn’t tip our hand too early, eh?

  1. "Because a really good, hot cup of tea is what makes the stardrive on that ship work, Arthur." I say after getting the nod from Artizza. "Tea is important for the type of drive it is."
