enough to fight anyone just yet."
"Of course," Astra C replied. "We can arrange things so that some of the second round bouts take place first. And talking of the second round, now would be as good a moment as any to make the draw." The draw came out as follows: Artizza vs Lueoth
The Goddess must have a strange sense of humour, Astra T reflected. Fancy pitting me against Belboz, and my 'sister' against her husband - assuming that he beats Checkers, which surely he is almost bound to do even without benefit of magic. I'm up against another female elf, though one of a slightly different breed, Fred thought. I can hardly believe my bad luck. It looks as though my most effective tactic might be to tie her up in her own hair! [13551] I'm up against 'myself' so to speak, Ia'adoire mused. Not that we have anything in common any more. I wonder how this Fred would react if he knew that I was once just like him. Or not quite like him, I hope. I don't think that I was ever as narrow-minded as he has shown himself to be. My love is also up against himself - or herself. He and Artizza have a lot more in common than I do with this Fred, for all that one is now a male Light Elf and one a female proto-Dark Elf.
