Rami was too weak to resist as Astra forced her jaws open, Vashkoda ladled
in some stew, and then Astra forced her jaws closed again. If she was not
to choke, Rami had no choice but to swallow. (The stew had been left to
simmer for longer than usual, to ensure that there wouldn't be any pieces
of meat that might be large enough to block her gullet.) This procedure
was repeated several times, before Rami reluctantly accepted that
resistance was futile. She took the spoon from Vashkoda, and commenced
feeding herself.
"It tastes good, doesn't it?" Astra said. "It does. But that doesn't mean that I shall be eating any more of it." "Then we'll just have to force-feed you again. I'm not letting you starve yourself to death. I hope that, in a few hours time when you realise how much better you feel from the nourishment, you will change your mind." With that, seeing that Rami had finished the stew Astra and Vashkoda walked away. "How could you?" Rami asked Amy. "I'm sorry, Rami. But I couldn't let my sister starve herself to death and do nothing. Principles are all very well, but surely when there's no other food worth the name you can compromise a little? It's not as though an orc would think twice about eating you."
