Surrounded by Slime Creatures!

The Slimes had no eyes, but they could detect the body heat of Eritrea and
Velus. Acting purely on instinct, for they had no intelligence, they
closed in around the two in order to kill and then digest them. They had
no teeth or claws, but could smother their victims and then exude a
digestive fluid that would reduce the bodies to a mush that they could
absorb.
The Slimes could not move very fast (they had no legs and had to ooze from one place to another), and Eritrea and Velus might have done best to flee. But that would have been very undignified. Besides, by the time they had realised their danger they were already surrounded by Slimes of many colours. It was a strangely beautiful sight, but Eitrea and Velus understandably did not pause to appreciate it. They began to slash at the Slimes with their swords. Unfortunately, the Slimes were such a low form of life that being cut in two did not seem to inconvenience them.
