Fred followed Astra into the hut, nervous but looking forward to seeing their daughter.
Having a brief flash of sanity, he felt sad that they'd have to raise her on the island. It
looked increasingly like this would be his home for the rest of his life. She wouldn't have
any friends her age, unless Alura became desparate enough to make love to Velus. And
then, when he and Astra died, she wouldn't have anyone else... No. He had to get back to
civilization, for his daughter's sake. She deserved to be raised in the Aqualarian royal
family, not live out the rest of her life in a desolate island in the middle of nowhere. But
he had no idea how to build a boat and for some reason couldn't convince any of the other
fairies to build one for him. Heads would definitely roll once he got home... (His brief flash
of sanity was long over by now.)
As he stepped into the simple hut, however, he realized that he and Astra weren't alone. Well, there was the baby, of course, but there was something else too. Something tall and dark and fanged. "A vampire!" shouted Astra. She instinctively made the holy sign of Apollo. "Hahaha! Fools!" sneered the vampire. "The child of the prophecy is mine now! For I am Josh Burbank, true king of the fairies!" "You can't be a fairy, you idiot," said Fred. "You're a vampire." "Shut up!" shouted Vampire Josh Burbank. He waved his hand and a whole horde of vampire soldiers appeared in the hut. (It was a rather large hut.) "Destroy them!" he shouted.
