Kirk Jumps to a Conclusion

"But Captain..." Spock started to object.

"No time to discuss it now," Kirk snapped. "We can sort this matter out later. We have a battle to fight first." He spoke into the intercom: "Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, Smith: I know that you've only just gone off-duty, but I'm afraid that you are all needed on the bridge urgently."

"I was merely about to point out, Captain, that the Vulcan vessel appears to have broken off her attack, and is heading away from us at warp speed. Thus I believe that we do now have sufficient time to get to the bottom of this matter. Whilst your hypothesis that these four crew members have become insane appears reasonable at first sight, nevertheless I do not think that it is correct."

1. "Very well, Spock. How do you propose that we get to the bottom of this?" Talking of bottoms, he realised that he must try not to stare too obviously at Gloria's.
2. "Nonsense. There's no other possible explanation. To the brig with them."
3. "I've had just about enough of your smart ass comments and questioning of my orders, Spock. You can join them in the brig."
