"Great!" Princess Gloria said. "The two tests of intelligence come first, though. You'll have to solve those all by yourself, of course, with no help from your friends."

That was unfortunate, Stacy thought, as she suspected that either Betty would have been better at those two tests than she would be.

Gloria went on: "I'd better take the three of you to see my father, introduce you, and break the news to him that one of you will be facing his challenges. Er, that reminds me, you didn't tell me your names."

"I'm Stacy, and my two friends are both called Betty." Stacy decided that it would be best to leave it at that, rather than attempt a long explanation of how the two very different-looking Bettys were actually alter egos.

"Come along then, Stacy, Betty and Betty," Gloria said, leading the way out of her room.

"Isn't she going to get fully dressed first?" Stacy, taken somewhat aback, whispered to Betty-1.

"Not in Game 3," Betty-1 whispered back. "Believe me, wearing lingerie almost counts as being over-dressed."

1. Five minutes later they were standing in front of the king.
2. This being Game 3, something totally unexpected and illogical happened.
