What of those already hurt? (Part 1)

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 43184

The Doctor

And let us see who's the Key Component Carrier (or Carriers). Might be more than one Carrier, you know. . .

There are more than one. As it turns out, almost ALL of the survivors from Moya are Key Component Carriers. Why?

....

Well, part of the answer to that lays in the fact that the entity (an associate of Flagg who'd been unaware of him having gone rogue) who'd sowed those Key Components had been in a hurry! Consulting some kind of mystical scrying device (a magical thing that, like all other devices useful for foretelling the future as found in places like Terra Prime, predicts the future by glimpsing into parallel timestreams where events are just a bit more along in events) the entity saw that those who'd been captured would survive long enough whilst in Peace Keeper custody for his needs. Nodding and in a hurry (had to attend a Union meeting), he shrugged and placed the components within those who'd been thrown into the klink, awaiting only God (or Whoever or Whatever or Evers) knows what next.

Motely lot, these prisoners. One's name is Chiana, who like any OTHER Chiana is always (it seems) a survivor. Another's name is D'Argo, who like many other D'Argo's who'd sworn never to be taken prisoner again got taken prisoner (again). Another is named Aeryn Sun, who'd parted ways with PK Crichton on some rather bad terms . . . . he'd betrayed her. However, since then . . . . No, that's telling! Anyway, that's the lineup of the "regular" list of survivors.

Now, let's move onto the strangers who'd somehow managed to get themselves VERY lost. They'd taken a wrong turn down the wormhole in their attempts to get away from a Scarran ship set on capturing them. A terrible war had started back from where they'd haled from between the Peace Keepers and Scarrans, and for a while it appeared that both sides were doomed to hash it out the "old fashioned way", as painful and costly as that would be. All attempts to find the one named "Crichton", a man who was reputed to hold the key to wormhole weapons (something that would/could end this war quickly and decisively), failed until . . . this newly resurrected (according to him) man had come back into the picture. He and a Devlian named Zhaan (also reputed to have come back from the dead) had been on the lamb until that wrong turn . . .

Finding what they'd thought was their Moya, the meeting of the residents and the foreigners had been shaky until the native Zhaan and the foreign Zhaan hit it off. From there (with the doppleganger/analog business you've probably heard about from that Terra Prime business and whatnot). The native vouched for the foreigners (especially for the foreign Crichton, needful considering the bad blood that had developed between those on Moya and the native Crichton).

. . . .

Hey, stop looking at me like that! We don't know beyond the few vague clues on just HOW that unrealized reality we glimpsed on the TV show where PK Crichton came about, so . . . go with it. It's a bit "screwy" but fits rather well enough into this tale, so go with it, okay?

. . .

For a while, life was good. Actually GOOD! Coming to grips with reality, Crichton from the other reality had acknowledged that even IF he should somehow manage to get BACK to his home reality (something that he . . . kinda had a feeling he could do, somehow) he'd still have no chance by now with "his" Aeryn Sun. By now she should be with his Twin, if anyone. If he should go back, the shock of seeing him might not go over too well. After all, he had died in her arms. Won't go into all the reasoning, but bottom line, he figured (correctly) that "his" Aeryn was not beyond reach. As for the native Aeryn Sun . . . . Well, cut to the chase here and lets say that . . . a relationship blossomed, taking up where other relationships had left off with others. Perhaps not the best reasons, but that's life here in the Uncharted. Go figure. But soon Mr. and Mrs. Crichton here (and friends) came across and took aboard (big mistake on their part) a slijnot named Sikozu, a spy sent to spy on these people who'd been rumored to have this way with wormholes. They'd almost gotten captured by her Scarran handlers, only to be "rescued" by PK Crichton and friends!

PK Crichton had bridged the rift between himself and Scorpius, but had done more than that. Had managed to not only bridge rifts, but get INTO the Peace Keeper ranks. Become captain of that Command Carrier of his old enemy, Crais (who'd died under . . . mysterious circumstances). He'd been out to find out about these rumors of his old friends having luck about wormholes and . . . silence them. His Gammak project was something he wanted to be the only game in town. Better his project than this other project that the Scarrans could sweep up (like they'd almost done) and. . .

Well, you get the idea, I guess.

Moya got cornered and was killed in the process of capture. The survivors were rounded up and were being readied for interrogation,

Pscyho-zu first and then the others later. PK Crichton wanted to know how much the Scarrans might have gotten from this twin of his. Wanted to know just how this twin got HERE! But most importantly, he wanted to learn as much as he could to avoid a war he saw on the horizon. His and Scorpy's wormhole project had been going so well, only to have suddenly taken a weird setback. Almost like the very nature of the universe had changed, nulling out those promising leads to the weapons he'd been trying to make (as a deterrent to the Scarrans).

  1. Nobody had ANY idea what the naked chick and the boy (with fox ears and tail and armed with a weird sword WAY too large for him to use) story was . . .
