Specimen of Antiquity

"Ha Ha Ha!!!" laughed the voice. "I am the mighty necromancer Belboz!! I am the one who has conquered death - the immortal scion of my discipline!!"

The youths cowered in fear from the booming, pulsating voice which seemed to be coming from everywhere at once.

"Who dares invade my domain?!" Belboz continued. "What sort of puny maggots could possess the sheer wherewithal to disturb my eternal repose?!"

Chuc stood upright. In a brave voice he announced his name and magic lineage. "We are but simple travelers, seeking knowledge from the great Belboz. We humble ourselves before your might! Please allow me to..."

Belboz's voice came again, ignoring Chuc utterly. "Immortality wearies me. My lost soul cries in anguish! Entrapped here by my lust for power, death is now my only desire. Can you understand this? Can you even come close to comprehending, children of mortals?"

"How can we aid you, sir?" Elashi exclaimed. "Where are you? Let us help you!"

"Ssh!" Chuc whispered angrily. "I'm better suited for this sort of thing, Elashi!"

But then the light in the corner of the room seemed to be parting, and an incredibly old man stumbled out. His skin was terribly wrinkled, and long white hair streamed all the way down to his waist. He was so small and fragile, that it seemed a tiny breeze could make him crumble into dust.

"Children of mortals!" Belboz wept. "Yours are the first human voices I have heard in a thousand years here in my tomb, my cage. For your kind words you have my gratitude. But to aid me is beyond your small power. A great evil keeps me trapped here, unable to live or die, and no human could hope to defeat it."

Val thought about this and made a quick command decision.

1. Offer to help Belboz, regardless of the dangers involved.
2. Ask Belboz to use his power to help them find the Dragon's hoard.
3. Apologize to Belboz for bothering him, and continue on their way.
