Amy Rescued

The spider was getting closer and closer, Soon its head was only a couple of feet away from Amy, and she expected it to strike at her at any moment. But its advance had brought it within reach of the tickler's sword, and with one blow he removed its head from its shoulders.

"Sorry about that," the man said, "but I figured that would be the best way of luring it within range. Let me cut you down."

Soon Amy was standing, rather shakily, on terra firma once more. "Thank you," she said.

Her rescuer was a handsome man in his twenties, dressed in chain mail. "Think nothing of it," he said, sheathing his sword. He went on:

1. "Let me see if I can bring the whole web down, and then we can extricate your clothes."
2. "I'm afraid that your clothes look to be a write-off." Amy's clumsy efforts to free them had indeed reduced them to little more than rags.
