As Astra followed Fred into the kitchen, she was wondering what had come over her just now. She wasn't normally the sadistic type. But there was no denying that Demento was an exceptionally nasty bit of work.

Meanwhile, Demento was struggling back to painful consciousness, and inside his head burnt the desire for revenge. He discovered that he was securely bound.

  1. He was gagged as well, so there wasn't any chance of casting a spell. He would have to be patient.
  2. But, distracted by Fred's ramblings, Astra had forgotten to gag him.
