From the waist up, Astra was unchanged, except that her clothes had
vanished, but below that she now had the body of a chestnut mare. She was
shocked for a moment, but then she recalled the godlike power that Reaibn
had demonstrated that he possessed. He must have been responsible for her
transformation. She wondered what his motive might be.
Does this mean that he's given up on the idea of marrying me? she mused. Though I suppose that he could always change me back again if he chose. Perhaps he intends to use this as a bargaining ploy, and to say that he'll only restore me to my rightful form if I will agree to marry him? Then it occurred to Astra that she might be able to turn her new body to her advantage. Turning her back on the cell door, she kicked at it as hard as she could with her powerful hind legs. CRASH
