Waking the Princess

You try shouting in an attempt to rouse them, but your voice seems to be swallowed up in this gigantic cavern and neither the woman nor the dog stirs. Well there seems to be nothing else for it. Though the bridge has no visible means of support, at least it is a substantial structure. Your heart pounding, you start walking across it.

Forty-five seconds later, to your great relief you reach the central dias safely. You examine the woman and the dog. The dog is a small brown mongrel, but most of your attention is focused on the woman. She is tall and strong, but at the same time beautiful and curvaceous. Her dishevelled long red hair flows down onto the dias. The simple long white gown she wears is cinched at the waist by a golden chain. Matching white slippers are on her feet. From the legends you have heard, this is not the garb which the princess would have chosen, and you wonder what the story is behind her presence on the dias and her being so attired.

"Wake up, Princess!" you say softly. But both she and the dog sleep on. You say it again, more loudly, then shout it as loud as you can, with no more effect. It seems they are either drugged or under some enchantment.

You slap the princess gently on the cheek, and finally pinch her, yet still she and the dog sleep on.

You can only think of one more thing to try. Well, it worked in the fairy tale, you think. Bending down, you kiss the princess on the cheek.

1. She and the dog both awaken!
2. She wakes, but the dog sleeps on. You draw the line at kissing it, but the princess does the deed for you.
3. The instant you kiss the princess, you hear a rumble. All the bridges leading to the dias collapse!
4. The instant you kiss the princess, you hear a rumble. All the bridges leading to the dias collapse, bar one.
5. The princess turns into a frog!
6. Nothing happens. Now what?
