The Never Ending Quest - Episode 42489

Looking through the wrap-around window of the ferry terminal, Stacy could see the Statue of Liberty a mile or two away across the water. I think I know where the Eternal Flame might be, she thought to herself, gazing at the upheld torch. But how can I get to it? First, though, do I want to get to it? Dare I defy someone who can get inside my head like that, and who makes veiled threats about "negative reinforcement"?

Stacy came to a decision. Are you still inside my head? she asked. If so, then hear this. I'm not doing it. If you want the Eternal Flame then you can bloody well get it yourself.

Minestus's response was:

  1. Pain. Stacy convulsed in agony. Then the pain ebbed.
  2. Transformation. Stacy saw her reflection in the glass shimmer and change.
  3. Nothing. After ten seconds, Stacy let out the breath that until then she hadn't realised she was holding. Perhaps it would be all right.
