Beside . . . would kind of be nice having . . . family around

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 42276

Later . . .

The newest Champions (and potential Champions who are conscious) are looking up and UP at the Dark Tower.

"Frell, that's big." Aeryn-Pip whispers, looking at the towering structure that lay within the center of a huge field of blood red roses.

"Yeah," Chiana whispers, agreeing. Made that golden temple that reached for the sun back in that earlier look puney in comparison!

"Well, we'll ask, okay?" Artizza says, back to the staring Atlants (some who've dropped to their knees in worshipful awe at the sight of the Dark Tower). "Left instructions on how to prepare the care packages Star Fleet sent. Bye!"

Without further ado, she slams the Door in the Atlans face. It disappears, and the female elf breaths in relief.

It had been such a bloody close run thing. Too close for her comfort, thanks!

"Thank GOD that's done," Fertal 1 whispers, coming up next to Artizza 1 and hugging her fiercely.

"And thank you, BOTH of you." he adds, looking back at the gray girl twins. "Without your help we'd never had succeeded."

The Atlans were just too powerful to prevail against, with sword or magicks available to them. Nothing short of something with the power of a tac nuke could have stopped the Atlans, if the Champions had tried to FIGHT their way throuh to win.

So, instead it was . . . the art of the deal. Something that Chiana and Aeryn-Pip had some experience with, throughout their various careers in adventure in their own Uncharted Realms. One of the many skills that had served them well.

Well, besides being able to vamp and con people....

"What about this fool?" Centauress Astra asked, gesturing at disgust at the still unconsious Freud.

He'd not wanted to go "with the stinking humans" and Inquirer had finally gotten tired of trying to reason with the bigot. Instead she'd shrugged and knocked the male out could and had bodily dragged the snoozing centuar through the door.

The Champions weren't going to take "no" for an answer after everything else they'd gone through.

"Oh, he's going to probably be pissed," Inquirer snorted mirthlessly. "No way in Hell will he join us now. Not that I particularly care."

As it was, Freud the centaur opted to serve in a centaurian version of the Seelie Court (Champions of the "Office" of Good). Might have opted to join up with the Demons, only to spite that b*tch who'd decked him. However, bigot though Freud is, he's not THAT stupid!

As for the demifoxes? The ones who'll become known simply as Demifox Fred 2 and Demifox Astra 2? Well, they of course join up with Eternity Inc! Almost overwhelms them, when they get told by the Celestrials about how that clan was made up of analogs of themselves and such. They even get to, in a odd way, meet their various parents (or rather analogs of their parents in that Demifox Fred 2 had the Elder D'Honaires and Demifox Astra had the one person --actually twins-- who she loved as a parent in both Anina and Anina 2 Thessamer). Important, really, family to the little demifoxes. That their new family (actual FAMILY) approved and saw them as people (Fred was choked up that his father would still call him son)....

All in all, a happy ending to a Quest that almost Frelled up near the end, eh? And all that and no need for Validation Quests for the newbies! That had been part of the Deal the Rules and Agents had worked out in this mess...

Centauress Astra and other new Champions find themselves in a forest near where the Champions been having a gathering (before certain elfin abductions and such . . . .don't ask, it's a long story). Each smiles at the other, a bit dazed at it all but knowing . . . .a LOT of stuff is going to happen and they live for that stuff.

Then, the taboo is interrupted when the demifox infants (magically aged and delivered by the Rules and Agents to get around certain . . . problems) whine, calling for their parents. The adult demifoxes will find that the infants age and grow just like normal children but . . . are already themselves Champions. They'll stop aging at eighteen, but that's later....

Don't ask. Just nod and take it in, okay? About that and no need for Validation Quest for these newbies, okay? At this rate the vetted Champions would have NEVER been able to rest, needing to go on more and more chaperoning jobs for newbies on Validation Quests....

....

B'Elanna already knows, when she goes over to a com unit back on Terra Prime that the friends she has back in the Logistics part of Star Fleet who owes her . . . a few favors (BIG favors . . . enough to feed a city long enough for them to get back on their feet). Well, given that the supplies had arrived before she'd left . . . she knows that this'll work.

Roland welcomes back Jake, the newest member of the Deschain family. Jake the kid is befuddled to meet a young boy who he soon realizes is Roland's genetic son (fathered by him in)....

Oh, nevermind. Read the Stephen King books to understand the confusion....okay?

As for Aeryn-Pip and Chiana?

Well, Chiana got to finally see (like the other Champions had) what had been at the top of the Dark Tower. Doesn't REMEMBER exactly what she experienced (in time her and other Champions would be able to take it in and retain it), but it had been . . . special.

"I . . . sorta remember meeting all the other Champions of the Clan up their," she sighs, looking over at Sigin and smiling. "We . . . talked about religion up there. Saved a LOTTA time and . . . I've gone and come to a decision. In the end after I'd polled them all, all the choices were even and . . ."

"Oh," Betty says in a neutral voice, noting the cross that she now wore. Well, it was her choice. When all choices looked as good (or bad) as the other, the dragoness had opted to follow her love's religion . . . because it was Sigin's religion (and he liked it). Seems to be as good of reason as any, in the end.

Well, to each their own, Ragan nodded. Not like both gray girls had done that.

"And I stayed with my choice," Aeryn-Pip said, sipping at her razlic (good stuff).

She'd decided to keep with her beliefs (or NON-beliefs) in a higher power. In her case, she'd also looked into things and decided to stay where she'd started.

She just hoped that it had been the right choice. Meeting actual Demons and Angels had been . . . unsettling, but could be explained away as . . . Well, as some kind of Higher Alien intelligence that primitive man (or Nebari) had mistaken for actual supernatural entities...

Well, that's as good as any explanation, right? Though, some would say that was just a too . . . Star Treky view. Wasn't there a Star Trek: TOS episode with that premise?

"I still can't frellin' get over how right you'd been about this place," Aeryn-Pip (a name she'd decided to keep, all considering). "I'd thought you'd been joking about it being bigger inside than out!"

"Well, it is!" Chiana says, sounding amused.

"Oh, now about the . . . . thing?" Chiana asks hopefully, turning towards both Sigin and the Doctor.

"Don't see any problems with one more Companion, my dear." the Doctor says, smiling slightly.

Though, he admits to himself, that this Nebari woman, who's so much like her sister, is going to make for interesting times indeed here, soon enough.

Let's just say he can smell it.

"And my book have opened up for taking in new apprentices," Sigin chuckles, actually having taken to the young Nebari female himself.

"Oh, this is going to be interesting," Betty says softly to her analog sister, Ragan.

"So, what's the next Validation Quest we're gonna go on here?" Aeryn- Pip chirps, happy to have been welcomed aboard.

Sigin sighs, smiling a soft smile.

"I'd rather like to help an old friend of mine and his new love," he says softly, as a suggestion. "Perhaps we could aid Sovay and Demifox Synizn ?"

He'd kind of grown fond of Sovay as well...

The Doctor and Companions say good bye to the Dark Elves, Fertal 1 and Artizza 1. Their now vetted Champions, yes, but . . . they'd rather like to now enjoy their honeymoon, okay? Maybe when that was done (and if any newbie Champions are left), they'll get into the swing of things and go Questing. Later....

As for Sovay and Demifox Synizn?

As it stood, one choice was as good as the other AND those folks were still available, in need of chaperons for Sovay's Validation Quest....

But when the Champions learn just WHO is going to be their first target is to BE!.....

"We're going to need Captain Crais for this one," Ragan mutters.

"But we'd just BEEN there!" B'Elanna protests. "Point in fact we still need to get some of them BACK there. Why-why didn't we get to collect him in the first place back before we blipped out on the Defiant?!"

"Because Flagg hadn't done it yet," Rule 1 explains. "He placed it in him soon after everyone had disappeared. We're going to do it this way, letting you Champions go in after he's placed the Key Component into victims because . . . . he's too powerful for you right now to stand up to him and succeed. "

Only the Elder Champions were getting up to that point, now....

"Yeah, but why the flamin' hezmana Crais?!" Aeryn-Pip snaps, remembering her encounters with the man . . . sort of.

"Steady on, dearie." the one known as Dian Walker says softly. She's not liking looks in this one's eyes, she's not!

By luck and pluck, she sort of somehow got into this current Quest. Go figure.

"It's only an analog of your Crais," Rule 1 says mildly. "Might prove rather useful, in the end, considering that this Quest will be another Farscapian crossover. Unrealized Reality and Prayer will actually play into it a lot, Betty."

With a slight frown at the look of dismay both Betty and Ragan have at THAT last episode mention.

You knew that it was probably going to come up, the Rule sighs as he fades. You'd already come up with a means of breaking the news IF it should have come up sooner with Aeryn-Pip. . . so wish you luck but frankly it's something best left to friends.

As much as he liked the Champions, their relationship was more of a professional nature, alas. For now, anyway..... Rule 179's relationships with HIS Champion friend.....

Lucky stiff!

....

"Uh guys," Betty begins nervously, looking over at the girls in gray. "Something you'd better know now before we get into it...."

Meanwhile, back on Babylon 5....

A rather annoyed Station Commander who wish he'd never developed a drinking problem, because these Farscapian characters were running his staff in CIRCLES is glaring at the man who'd he'd secretly nicknamed "Captain Cranky".

First all the Chianas and Rygels were terrorizing the Brown Sector..... and now this....

  1. "Sir I DEMAND that you contact Inquirer and the Doctor," Crais shouts, fed up with waiting.
