Velus sneaked along after the witch and the Dragon. (It was actually a
Dragoness, but he wasn't aware of that.) He wondered why the witch had put
on Lord Fred's armour, since judging by the way she was walking she
clearly found it too big and heavy to be comfortable.
After a while, he got a feeling that he was being followed. Turning to look over his shoulder, he was astonished to discover that ten yards behind him was a beautiful yet athletic young woman dressed in chain mail. She put her finger to her lips to warn him not to cry out in surprise. He waited for her to join him. When she did so, she whispered: "Greetings, young man. I take it that you, like me, have business with the Dragoness. For she has something that I want." Even more quietly, she added: "Assuming that she managed to catch it, that is." "My business is more with the witch. She killed Lord Fred, a noble knight of Allaria, and I must avenge his death."
