Stacy hurried over to the bobcat morph. "Don't try and get up just yet,"
she said. "If you've broken something, you could do more damage. Where
does it hurt?"
"My left arm," the boy said. Stacy gently ran her fingers along his arm, feeling through the fur. She felt an irregularity, just as the boy winced. "It's broken, just here," she said. "I'd better see about calling you an ambulance." As she called over a library employee, and asked him to call an ambulance, she was wondering how she seemed to have so much medical knowledge. Was she a first aider, a nurse, a paramedic, even a doctor? But it didn't seem to make sense. How could she almost instinctively know about a bobcat morph's anatomy, when her mind was telling her that there were no such things as morphs?
