Fred went back to Astra in the sword section. "So, what kinds of weapons
do your sisters like?" Astra laughed. "They’ll use anything." Then she got more serious. "We don’t have an archer in our party, so we should take Gnome-boy’s advice and give one of them the Bow of Precision. As to the other one, I don’t know." All Gnome-boy could see as he turned around without looking up were two beautiful pairs of legs. "These athletic shorts, or whatever you call them, are much smaller than we’re used to, but we like them," said the owner of one of those pairs of legs. Looking up, Gnome-boy saw it was Carola. "Your legs are—very…um, beautiful," Gnome-boy managed to stammer. Carola and Belinda laughed. "Any good weapons here?" "Most everything here is Grade A and bona fide. I got stuff from this era, stuff from my time, even stuff from the future, occasionally. Just find something and I’ll let you know what it is. Since Astra already has a sword and Fred has some stuff here, I’d check out the 'Spyware' section." Belinda and Carola took Gnome-boy’s advice and went over into that section. Gnome-boy followed close behind, beaming. "Let me show you some of the stuff I invented." "This is a digital watch. In short, it’s a timepiece that wraps around your wrist. Now look closely. Pressing this button here activates a laser that’s powerful enough to cut through your bonds any time you find your hands tied." He gave the watch to Carola, saying, "Strap it around your left wrist, right where the shirt ends." Carola was intrigued by each and every new thing Gnome-boy was showing her. Belinda, on the other hand, was visibly bored, and she stood there looking for Astra and Fred. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, she finally spotted them. Astra carried the Bow of Precision and a quiver of normal arrows. "I hope those are for me," Belinda said. Astra was more than willing to give them to her. Gnome-boy noticed Astra and Fred’s arrival as well, and said, "Finally, I'm going to give you something that no other group has had the privilege of using. Of course, that’s mainly because all four of them just dropped in yesterday afternoon, but that’s beside the point." He handed each of them a small purple box. "These," he explained, "are walkie-talkies. They're used quite frequently where I come from. Now listen up. You ain’t gonna be able to communicate with nobody by no ordinary means when you’re the only one that could hear you scream, so you’re gonna need to use these. To talk to the other three of you, just depress this button here and talk into it." The five of them exited the weapons closet. "I can help you no further. Beyond the door over there is the planning area, in which your group may discuss strategy. Any provisions you might need are stored in that area. When you’re ready, you may enter the area of great peril through the other door in that room. Remember everything Qundarian said, and everything I’ve said. Best of luck. Ciao, baby." He blew a kiss at Carola as he scampered off.
