As the battle raged on, both Shiva and the necromancer attempted to wrest
control of their opponent's creatures and turn them against the other.
Finally, Death swing his tail and knocked Sweetness's clawed feet out from
under her, Shiva sensed a moment of weakness and focused her energy on
Sweetness, intending to seize control of it. This proved to be a fatal error. The necromancer felt her guard drop and focused all of his energy at her while she was distracted. Invisible lightning flashed across the room, and from within Shiva's dark cloud, a scream of agony and rage was heard. Centuries of imprisonment had honed Shiva's anger but dulled her skills. She tried to fight back, but she was wounded now, and her attacks were easily deflected. She reeled as a second blow landed. And a third. And, finally, a fourth There was no sound, but the dark cloud simply dissipated into thin smoke, leaving behind an unpleasant stench, like burning rubber. The smoke then coalesced into a ball, about the size of a man's fist, and was drawn into a small flask hovering nearby. The leashes of flame that had been connected to the black cloud flickered, vanished, and then reappeared - now leading to the grey cloud of the victorious necromancer. A harsh laugh now emerged from the cloud. "You always were an impatient, impetuous fool, Shiva," came an eerie voice. "Now I've not only beaten you a second time, I've taken your pets and made them my own. Isn't that right, my beasts?" All four carnage beasts yowled and snarled approval at their masters' words. "Yes, yes, in due time, you'll all have your chance to kill for your master - and there are plenty who I plan to have die at your merciless claws. For now, though, there is another matter to attend to."
