Sandra shivered with more than just the cold as she looked into the man's cruel eyes. They
reminded her of the bestial eyes of the Orc she had faced not so long ago, except that they
sparkled with cunning intelligence. The thing had her at a disadvantage, it would seem.
Her only hope was to try and strangle it before it cut her into pieces. She might or might
not succeed, but at least she would take it with her.
But after no attack came. Sandra felt suprised and a little uneasy at this. What did it want with her, then? Doubtless, it hoped to make her accomplish some task. This was not atypical for sorcerors, if the heroic legends she had devoured as a girl were true. They often captured warriors to serve as pawns in their twisted games. But how could a beastman be a sorceror? The legends told her that such things were not capable of intelligence, although they had strong black magic in them. "Don't you have anything to say to me, noble lady?" said the creature, with a low chuckle that was almost a growl. Sandra found herself wondering whether its fur coat was truly merely a coat. "What do you want with me, monster?" spat Sandra. "I see you are quite shrewd," said the creature. "And I can see from your accent and bearing that you are an Allarian noblewoman. What would such a lady as you be doing in the Shreken?" "That is no matter for you, monster." It chuckled again. "No matter. I can see you are a warrior, which is all I need to know. I need your help to defeat another dweller in these mountains who has been something of a problem to me."
