All heads turned at the sound of the door whooshing open. Standing there,
phasers drawn, were two of Uhura's fellow bridge crew members, Lieutenant
Hikaru Sulu and Ensign Pavel Chekov. "Is everyone here all right?" Sulu
asked. "For now, yeah," McCoy said. "Boy, am I glad to see you two. Say, how'd you get down here, anyway?" "It's a long story, Doc," Sulu grinned as he holstered his phaser. "We were off on our break when all the women on the ship just went crazy." "Da," Chekov nodded emphatically. "Ve managed to get avay from them. Ve hid out in a Jeffries tube for a chile, until ve heard vun of them saying they had taken Uhura here to Sickbay because she vas acting wery strange, not helping take ower the ship like the rest of them." "Right," Sulu nodded appreciatively at Fred, "So we decided to start the revolution down here, I guess." "I applaud your initiative, Mr Sulu," Spock said, "But why not seek to free the Captain beforehand?" "We were, Mr Spock," Sulu explained, "But we don't know what's happened to him. All we know is that he broke out of wherever they had him confied." "He tried to take back the bridge, but Yeoman Rand knocked him cold, then and she and Lt. Villiamson hauled him avay some place." "So what now, Spock?" McCoy asked. "Do we go find Jim and get him first?" "No," Spock said, shaking his head. "The Captain is more than capable of handling himself, and I believe he would not appreciate any pre-emptive rescue gesture on our part. We must concentrate our efforts on first understanding the nature of this attack before we can begin combat it." Fred nodded, appreciating Spock's strategy. "So how do we go about doing that, Mr. Spock?"
