Princess Cecilia was visibly unhappy with her choices. On one hand, she
could do nothing and let her conniving cousin Rogell, Duke of Mollgon,
inherit her father's throne. On the other hand, while she was sure she
could banish Rogell with the aid of the sorcerer Belboz, the price was
taking him as her husband - which would make him the de facto ruler
of the kingdom. Neither option was pleasant. In the end, though, she knew she couldn't let Rogell's plot succeed. Even if it meant marrying Belboz. She'd have to find a way to deal with him, eventually, but that would be for later. And she couldn't let her father die without seeing him again. "Very well, sorceror," she sighed, "If that's what it takes to gain your help, I'll consent to marrying you." "Excellent!" Belboz exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "I knew you would see things my way! Have no fear, my dear, I shall make a good husband for you - and a wise ruler for your kingdom. Now then, let us tie the knot, as it were, and we'll be on our way." "Just a moment," Cecilia said, holding up one hand regally. "I shall keep my word and marry you - but the welfare of the kingdom comes first! Until we have defeated Rogell, there shall be no marriage!"
