Lord Fred berated himself. He had thought the reason the stone was kept chained to the wheel was so no one would steer the ship off course without the help of others. And that the pilot had stepped away because a nobleman was rampaging over the ship. But no...It was a spare! Lord Fred had fought the length of the ship to capture a spare pilot's wheel!
Of course Lord Fred didn't say this. What he did say was, "I'll make you a deal, Captain Roberts."
"A deal?" he sneered. "My good man, you're hardly in a position to make a deal for anything."
From above Billingsley laughed.
Lord Fred continued "You give me a rowboat and let me warn that ship over there or I'll take down as many men as possible before I die. You've already lost one man due to the imprisonment of me. Do you want to lose more? Because I will not submit to any punishment you dream up."
-
Captain Roberts does not want to lose any more of his men and agrees to what Lord Fred says.
-
Billingsley tips a barrel of fish over Lord Fred stunning him enough so he is captured.
-
The seemingly innocent merchant ship opens fire!
