"Reunion"

"Astra! Is that really you? I didn't recognise you at first under all that mud. We haven't heard of you since you left on your quest to defeat the dragon of the Northern Caves! We feared you may have fallen."

Astra laughed as though she really had returned home, and hadn't wound up in some other dimension similar to her own. "It will take more than a dragon to stop me! You should know that."

Belinda smiled. "Well it's good to know that you are well. Let's get you cleaned of that mud and get you dressed," she turned to leave.

"I think this will turn out okay. I should be able to pass for the Astra of this world with relative ease," she whispered to Fred before turning to follow.

Fred was somewhat offended that Belinda didn't even notice him. He sighed, and wandered off elsewhere in the castle.

Eventually, he found a balcony. Suddenly, he wondered if the Aqualarian capital of this world was anything like the one in his world. He had visited it on more than one occasion.

Wandering out, he saw. . .

1. The expected thatched roofs of homes and bustling streets. The city was exactly as he expected it.
2. The ashes and ruins of what was once a city. Fred thought it odd that the castle stood intact while the rest of the city was razed.
3. Bizzare, metal buildings and large machines he did not recognize. The city was also covered in a thick layer of smog.
4. Empty feilds and rocks. No city.
