Astra looked a little anxiously after the departing Fred. She wasn't sure
that it was altogether safe for him to wander off on his own within the
shifter colony. But that was being silly, she decided. The shifters had
more sense, surely, than to pick a fight with Aqualaria, which harming
Fred whilst he was under her protection would mean. But very soon she had
something else to worry about.
"What was that about Belboz?" Gaoric asked, to Astra's annoyance. Why couldn't Sir Toby keep his big mouth shut? The manner of Belboz's demise - which she had learnt about from Fred and Sir Toby - was not something that she wanted these shifters to know about. Gaoric went on: "You seem to be saying that Lord Fred killed him? Was not Belboz a great necromancer? Even here, far to the south, we have heard tell of him."
