Our Next Step (Part 1)...

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 37227

Jarlath

"So," Dragon Synizn finishes up. "What do we do with them?"

My wife, Astra 9 (she's so very fond of that number because of her childhood love of that story, Nine Man Morris ), speaks to answer that very question. Being that she is the party leader of us adventurers, I dare say that she has a lot of sway with us! That and there is the fact that a large percentage of the group just happens to either be either analogs of my wife or just happen to be in love with the analogs of my wife . . . . . All that and frankly my wife is hardly a simpleton, so her ideas and leadership is sound!

....

Yes, I do so very much sound like a dotting husband, but then again I AM a dotting husband to one VERY wonderful woman!

So, with all that said, she again fails to disappoint with what she says.

"I believe that the best course of action for the demifoxes is to actually change them all into Key components without awakening them," she says. "Being that from what I understand time for them ceases to pass whilst in that form means that we would be afforded much more time between now and any possible disasters when their Matrixes finally crystallize, correct?"

"That is basically true," Dragoness Astra answers after talking with Dragon Synizn for a bit. "But while that's convenient enough, don't we owe an explanation to them before we turn them into little crystal blocks for the Celestrials to do whatever they're going to do?"

"Six of one and half a dozen on the other as Doctor Four would say," I sigh. "We'd at least have more time to present our case . . . and to intervene with any cases of impending Matrix insanity. If nothing else in favor of the later to the former is that with the unicorns it's a guarantee that the insanity could be cut off, where with the former . . . . ?"

"Uh yeah," Dragon Synizn mutters after consulting (mentally) yet again with the Crystallic. "It's being just as vague in it's answers as last time."

"Which probably means that it never learned the spells that unicorns use by instinct," Astra 9 sighs. "But that's only an issue we only need to worry about later. Not now, thank goodness!"

"Then there's the matter of numbers and family," I add. The others look at me in askance except for my Astra.

"What comes to mind now," Astra 9 explains to the others, "that my Jarlath brought it up is that while the D'Honaires present now, especially with the analogs of both of the demifoxes here, could be so useful in settling their minds and souls we could increase their chances by having more of the family involved."

After years of living with me, first as a VERY close friend and then as wife, means that she (even more so than Annafrid, really, though our love for each is equal and remain so till the end of time) can discern the odd . . . . er . . . . manners of my speech. Try as I may, sometimes the exact meaning of what I'm trying to convey to others. But like the tortured pathways of my mind, sometimes so much can be....tangled up in translation from me to them.

While I am now back in the land of the sane, even I must admit that I'm "eccentric" at time (and that can make understanding me so challenging).

See, what's being said here is that with the rampart analogs (and the analogs of family members) feel for each other would be useful in letting the demifoxes get through the upcoming danger to their sanity. Even help with them adjusting to their new lives afterwards. And being that back on Terra Prime there are more analogs there than here . . . .

Basically, I mean the chances for the demifoxes are better there than here. That and being that any distress to their souls and mind right now (like if we told them that they cannot be returned to human) would only worsen their chances. The distress has a negative impact on their psyche (and we need that to be as good as we can get it for them to survive with sanity intact).

Ah, well, that's as about as clear as I can manage. Hope it worked.

The offshoot of this is that we decided to maximize our friends chances of mental survival (as well as adjustment) is to just change them now . . . and sort out the rest later back on Terra Prime.

Look despite rumors to the contrary not all our Quests have had the fairy tale "happily ever after" endings some would attribute. Ones where nothing ever went wrong for the "actors" in the play ever again. One Quest, while successful enough in the end, that comes to mind is that one where we'd tried to help that one Astra with her problems (i.e. regain her husband from the wicked witch of the White House), only to in the end having to kill the husband (who'd become an evil dragon) thus ending his tortured existence....

No, not all are happy endings, though we do what we can. Thus to do what we can for the demifoxes we shall do. So we shall keep them in stasis for the duration of this Quest and sort things out, after.

  1. But there is one person left we have to decide what to do with: the native Synizn....
