Albert stared at Andrea for such a long time that she began to become self
conscious. Finally, she broke the silence. "I will give you what it is
you want." She thought she then saw the beginning of a tear coming out of
his eye, but could not be sure. No matter, Albert turned to go. "Wait!" cried Andrea. Albert turned. "You can't leave me here," said Andrea rising, "he's a thief." "Well, I'm afraid I can't do you much better," replied Albert. "I am a thief too. You shouldn't worry too much about fatty there. If he did anything, your father would have his head. Were I king, I would punish him for taking that bracelet." He again turned toward the door. "Wait," pressed Andrea, grabbing his shoulder. "Who are you?" "I am Albert d' Lyon," said Albert. Then turning, he left.
