Lady Andrea's Wild Ride

Dawn broke over the tiny hamlet. As the soldiers of the stockade awoke to
their duties, they found Lady Andrea already up and about. She was
speaking with the armorer about various bows and was testing the strength
of two of them. The armorer was impressed with her accuracy and they
laughed together as they attempted harder and harder feats of skill. By the time the coachman emerged wearily from where he had spent a terrible night in the guardhouse, two horses were saddled and waiting. Andrea sprang upon her horse lightly as the coachman carefully mounted his. "Talley-Ho!!" cried Andrea, and with that they galloped down the single lane of the hamlet into the wilderness beyond. Andrea rode quickly, as if she knew where she was going. This bewildered her coachman, as he knew she had never visited this area of the world. Besides, it was dangerous in these parts--definitely no place for a lady. Yet, Andrea felt free, free to do exactly as she pleased with the constraints of society well behind her.
