"Keep your head down!" Fred exclaimed, desperately trying to cover Scarlett with his body.

But instead of firing, the person put his bow away. Then in defiance of all laws of physics, he took a ladder out of his backpack! He lowered one end of the ladder into the Thames, and Fred grabbed on to it. He and Scarlett climbed up to stand shivering on the shore.

Their rescuer was a blonde-haired teenage lad with pointy ears. He put the ladder back in his backpack and smiled at them. Beside him stood a dark- haired young woman wearing a summer dress.

"Who are you people?" Scarlett asked.

"I'm Stacy, and this is Link." the young woman said, her teeth chattering. "We've just teleported here, so don't mind us. What are your names?"

"This is Fred." Scarlett said, touching Fred's chest. "And I have many names, but for now you may call me Scarlett."

"Quickly now." Fred was saying. "We should find shelter before we catch the dreaded frost-twinge."

But Scarlett seemed hypnotized by Link's big blue eyes. "What a strange and beautiful creature." she said, gently putting her hand on Link's forehead. Immediately she recoiled and backed away. "Poor child. A wizard of great and terrible power has cursed you to randomly wander the planes, you and anyone near you. Thus you travel across the dimensions, never again to see your home or your sweet love."

Link nodded and smiled wistfully.

"I am sorry, but I cannot help you. Not even my Master could." Scarlett said. Turning to Fred she spoke "Let us go. Staying with these people would put us in grave peril."

"But they saved our lives." Fred said "We cannot just leave them to their fate."

After a moment's retrospection Fred decided to...

1. Leave Link and Stacy to their fate.
2. Join forces with Link and Stacy.
3. Leave Link and Stacy to their fate (narrative follows them).
4. Death from Above
