Between Two Hills

Astra was able to spot a flattening of the sea grass where a trail began, and they slowly pushed the land yacht inland. There was much stopping and restarting at first, as the merfolk adapted to their new transport, but within an hour, they were able to find a rhythm, and advanced steadily up a rise.

The land was barren. Fortunately, they had a little meat from the marine life at the beach stowed away, so they were in no danger of starving. Early that afternoon, the reached a saddle between two hills. Here the trail split in two. Straight ahead a broad trail descended down a steep ridge. Toward the right a narrower trail wended its way up the hill where Fred saw the mysterious light.

Fred and Astra decide to

1. take the broad trail down the ridge.
2. take the narrow trail up the hill.
