Astra's training had been too thorough. What would her mother say if she
was to find out that she had cried? What would her sisters say? What would
her weapons trainer, Anina, say? Even though she knew that no-one but Fred
would see her tears, and though she trusted him more than any other man
that she had ever met, she was unable to let go.
Unlike her hair, which unfortunately was letting go very rapidly. Or at least, the hair on her scalp was. One consolation, though it was a very minor one, was that her eyebrows seemed to be unaffected. Within the hour, the process of her alopecia was complete.
