As Fred travelled further onwards down the tunnel he thought he heard a
faint noise. He stopped and listened intently. Nothing. So he shrugged his
shoulders and carried on. Then there was another noise, slightly louder
than the first. His listened again, but again there was silence. This
carried on until he could finally discern the noise as being the snorting
a bull might make, and this really piqued his curiousity. He had heard of
the bullfights held in the neighbouring country of Hespan, and didn't
think highly of it. And since he was here to kill the dragon, he
boastfully thought a bull would be nothing. Even though there was a small
doubt in his mind at whether his armour, regardless of being the best in
the land, would protect him against the horns of at least 800 pounds of
rampaging bull.
When the tunnel eventually opened out into a large well-lit cavern, it wasn't exactly a bull that took his attention; rather, it was a creature that was half man, half bull. Never before had Fred seen such a strange sight and just stared.
When the creature finally noticed Fred's gaze, it turned around and looked at him. Fred tensed, sword at the ready, but was rather non-plussed when the creature asked in a cultured voice, "Excuse me, sir, but do you know where the Labyrinth of Knossos is? I seem to have taken a wrong turn somewhere."
Fred's sword fell to his side. Fred said nothing, but just stared. All his years of training seemed to drain away.
Seeing he wasn't going to get any answer, the minotaur simply raised an imaginary eyebrow and said, "Sorry to bother you. I bid you good day". With that, he left the way Fred had came in.
It was about five minutes later before Fred eventually broke out of his trance and noticed that the creature had gone. It was then he noticed that the cavern he was in had two other exits as well as the one he had entered by.
