Stacy is Unsure

Stacy watched in trepidation, as even a powerful swimmer like Astra was struggling slightly against the pull of the current. Eventually, though, Astra made it to the other side. She staggered a few steps further before sitting down to recover her breath which had been virtually knocked out of her by the coldness of the water.

This wasn't much of an encouragement to an Stacy who was also shivering - but from fear, not cold. She was tempted to shout for Astra to leave her here while Astra attempted to find something to help her get across. Since neither of them had any idea what lay at the end of the tunnel, such a search had no guarantee of success. She was sure Astra wouldn't go with that idea, anyway. She was right, when a now- recovered Astra called, "You said you could do it, so here's the perfect opportunity to try." She looked at Stacy's scared expression and added, "if you get into difficulties I'll help you out the best I can."

After a few minutes of nervous hesitation and Astra shouting encouragement, Stacy literally took the plunge.

1. Somehow, she manages to make it across without assistance.
2. She gets into difficulties around half-way across. Astra does what she can to help.
