A short passageway led Fred and Checkers into another sizeable chamber,
though it was small in comparison to the great Ampitheatre. The room was
approximately square. A row of beds ran along either side. Down the middle
of the room there was a row of lockers that alternately had their doors
facing to the left and to the right. Though there were no people,
everything looked almost brand new.
"This looks like a dormitory," Fred observed. "It must correspond fairly closely to where the 'Hostel' is marked on my map," Checkers replied, "so that would fit. I notice that there is no sign of dust. It looks almost as though those who slept here left only a moment ago and might return at any moment." "Except that everything seems tidier than one would expect if that were the case. All the beds seem to have been very neatly made, and there are no personal belongings left lying about. I wonder what is in the lockers?"
