The Never Ending Quest - Episode 34731

By the light of the moon, the trio carried on westwards, with the rock wall to their right. They found nothing edible and continued to get gradually hungrier, but it would be a long time yet before it would develop from discomfort into anything serious. They did notice one cave within the wall, into which they could have swum had they chose, but since it would have been pitch black inside they decided that doing so would be unwise.

Then, after an hour or so's swimming, a sandy beach appeared at the foot of the cliff. Soon the shore curved round more towards the south- west. The beach rapidly widened, since the rock wall behind it carried on due west. Before long the wall started to reduce in height and then disappeared altogether.

Then:

  1. They managed to find some food. They satisfied their stomachs, then slept for the rest of the night.
  2. They spotted a wisp of smoke drifting in front of the moon. They had no doubt that it was smoke rather than cloud. (The villagers had not been careful enough in following the Dragon's instructions.)
