Sleeping Beauty

Upon touching the blue artifact Fred let his mind wonder and thought of the queen, who would be sleeping as it was night outside. Suddenly his vision blurred and his thoughts became reality, for there the queen lay sleeping in her bed before him. Fred fell backwards in surprise and his armor made quite a racket. He made a face and sat frozen on the ground, praying the queen would not wake. Thankfully she remained asleep, her chest rising and falling slowly with each even breath. Fred's mouth dropped open, for she was as lovely as he remembered.

Now sitting up, he pondered his next move. He could wake the queen, because he was here anyway and he thought perhaps the artifact had sent him into some kind of personal dream world, although his senses did not indicate this was anything other than reality...

Perhaps a wiser move might be to try and sneak out of here. If he were seen by someone he would have a hard time explaining himself. The king, he imagined, would be less than pleased with the implications. He might even have his head off, for the man had a temper.

If fact, thinking about that, perhaps it was fate that brought him here. The king, while adored by the public, was kind of a brute and Fred had always been rather taken with the queen. Being a knight and a lord, if the king were somehow taken out of the picture he might be able to marry the queen for himself. They slept in separate bedrooms after all so he doubted there was any love lost between the king and queen. Yes, perhaps this is why he was sent here...

1. Wake the queen.
2. Sneak out and head back to the dragon's lair,
3. Sneak out and plot a way to marry the queen.
