We were assigned to violently take, or...I mean... steal, er, collect revenue from some stinky little slum on the fringes of Caemlyn. I did watch with most genuine wonder as Larry did hack and hew peasants into tiny, bloody pieces, exacting the King's policy of 'pay your taxes or be hacked into little pieces... well... even if you do pay your taxes you'll still be hacked into pieces and, well, sorry...but... we'll also steal your wives and daughters, too. Sorry. Population control, folks. Disease spread containment, ect. ect.ect... ' to the fullness of his Majesty's words.

Indeed, we did entirely wipe out an entire neighborhood, and brought to the King 100 wives and their 1200 daughters to be imprisoned, I mean housed in the Royal Brothel of His Horniness, er, I mean, Holiness. I, of course, have no conscience to speak of, so I haven't reached the part of the story where things get sad.

After the carnage of our 'Urban Renewal Quest', Larry abruptly retired. Moved to his castle on the hill. Never saw him again. Didn't care, really.

But that's when I got the news. We had butchered the wrong ghetto. But that wasn't what complicated the Quest. What complicated the Quest, was, well, I'll tell you. What it was. What it was, was this...
