Another Night Encroaches on the Trio

The hunt for food in the nearby vicinity was a lamentable failure. After
it was all said and done, they ended up with a meager 'meal' of seaweed.
They both agreed the stuff tasted bitter - though it looked identical to
the other, more flavorful weed they had come accross in the lagoon. The
fiery red of the evening sky had hardly dimmed to the deep blue of night's
dominion, when a full moon peaked over the wide eastern horizon.
Discouraged by the lack of prospects for a substantial meal in the nearby
reagion, and encouraged by the promise of a moonlit night under a clear
sky, they decided to continue their exploration of the lagoon. And so, after a short and successful search for Velus, they decided to strike a course toward the forbidding rock wall to the north. There was no telling what could be around the bend, but hopefully there would be some kind of food. Otherwise this night might be looking pretty glum. It was right about then that Astra noted a dull, reddish light eminating from the center of the steam shrouded island. It had probably been a good idea they'd avoided that. It's presence in the lagoon seemed entirely out of place. "Let's get moving," Astra prompted the others, and she set off toward the rock-wall...
