The total lack of any undergrowth meant that following the stream was a
relatively trouble-free task. They carried on for several miles without
there being any concievable change in their surroundings, though they did
come across some banana trees. They travelled another mile before they noticed that the trees were beginning to thin out, the resulting increase of sunlight heralding the appearance of undergrowth including nut-bearing bushes from which they soon gathered a few handfuls. Not far from the bushes they came across a small clearing where the stream cascaded in a small waterfall. They agreed it was an ideal place to to stop and rest. They pondered over where they were eventually headed, and also the fact that though their surroundings had changed, the animal life around them had not. There was still only the buzz of many different types of insects. No bird or monkey calls, which struck them as rather odd. There was some good news, though. They now knew the position of the sun, and so therefore gauge where they where to a certain level of accuracy. The sun was almost directly to their left, so that meant that by following the stream, they had been walking westwards almost constantly. Going by that they theorized that by continuing to follow the stream, they would eventually reach the shore of Lake Tol Nostra, so from there all they had to do was follow the shoreline, and eventually they should reach the Aqualarian border.
