The Guards' Blunder

In a move that would be talked about in the Dragon's Underground Kingdom
for years to come, the guards split up the group in an interesting way:
the guards would go right, while the prisoners would go left!
The prisoners hurried down the tunnel, happy about their new- found "freedom" (unfortunately, they were still chained together). The tunnel widened, and the light grew stronger. Morale was high. Suddenly, the prisoners found themselves in a large hall. Oddly enough, the hall contained 3 large tables stacked with food, and just enough place settings for each of them. Their shackles disappeared like magic and they looked at one another in wonder.
