Belboz and the prisoners

The prisoners stumble into a large room. It containes many shelves of
books and scrolls, multiple tables groaning under magical items and a
stuffed alligator hanging from the ceiling. It was gigantic, certainly a
fearsome beast when it had been alive. Nobody quite knew why magical labs always had stuffed alligators in them. The popular theory was that it was a rumor that soon became self-feeding as all the wizards started doing it in order to fit in. Unfortunately the master of this lab, according to the sign [1], didn't quite do a good job with hanging it up. The vibrations from the large crowd of newcomers caused the strings to snap. It fell, crushing everyone but Sir Josh. Blood flowed. Sir Josh felt faint. Belboz, the typical hairy old man, appeared in a burst of pink light. [1] The sign said, in large black letters, "I am Belboz, master of this lab. Management must wash hands."
