Strange Furnishings

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 32977

I realized, to some surprise, that the wardrobe was rather familiar. It was, in fact, the very same one that rested in my own bedroom, or one very much like it. The clothes were the exact ones which I was forced to wear during the diplomatic occasions I attended--most heads of state would not expect anyone, especially a woman, attend a summit in full battle armor. They might assume rather the wrong thing about one's intentions.

I now realized that everything in this room was familiar to me. The furnishings of this room were exactly like those of my bedroom in the palace, although the room itself could not be more different. This was very puzzling indeed.

I walked over to the doors to examine them--I doubted it would work, but it never hurt. To my surprise, they opened of their own accord, revealing a staircase.

  1. The staircase was also granite, and the walls were covered by tapestries I recognized from the palace.
  2. The walls were white and soulless, while the staircase was gray and seemed to be moving. The walls were covered by blinking lights that made my head hurt.
  3. The door opened to the outside of the tower. The staircase led to the ground, and nothing seemed to support it.
