Fred surprises himself by saying: "Since I don't have anything better to
do, I'll accompany you if you like."
Tarsa appeared to be just as surprised as Fred. “Why…that’s very generous of you…but I can’t accept it. I don’t want to be a burden.” Fred regretted what he said almost immediately. He tried to accept her offer of not accepting his offer, but again, he was shocked find himself saying: “No, please, I insist. The only other thing I would do is probably sit at this chair; drinking more than one man should drink, wondering why I didn’t come along.”She was about to argue, but Fred put his finger to her lips and said “Please, I would like to come along.” She gave him a long perplexed stare, and then finally said “Alright, if this is what you truly wish, pack your bags. The priests demand that we’re out before sundown.Baffled by what he had just done, Fred simply nodded and headed back to his room. When he arrived, he threw his dirty clothes into his traveling pack, along with a few other trinkets he’d taken out last night. It didn’t take him long. The Geohounds tended to travel light when doing work for citizens. “What am I doing” Fred muttered irritably to himself. “Why did I bring this is the first place?” “I’m curious to know as well” said a voice behind him.“Skye” Fred groaned. Skye perched on Fred’s shoulder, grinning. “First you refuse money, now you assist a young woman on her journey for free. Look at you. You’re finally growing up.”“Do you want to keep your wings?” Fred snapped, packing up his Geoblade in its case.
